This is 40!

I always imagined waking up this day on the floor of a yacht off the coast of Cape Town not entirely remembering what happened last night. Or, perhaps in a Colombian finca a stones throw from the mountains with an Aguardiente hang over.

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was look up the temperature in Miami. So, yeah things aren’t exactly as I’d hoped.

All things considered I’m extremely blessed to be waking up feeling healthy, despite the reality.. and knowing that I’m loved and supported not only by the blood I was so fortunate to be born into but also literally countless others from childhood, church, college, countries I can’t even spell correctly or place on a map, and virtual buddies who I’ve actually never even met.

I vow to make the most of all of your prayers and support for me by doing the best I can with what God gives me. Being humbled and honored as I continue to fight health battles and whatever else is in store and celebrate every day.
